And now, the man who raised me

Richard Leonardo Greene was a solid man. He married my mom while I was in junior high. This man took on six kids! He'd retired from the U.S. Army at the time and went on to retire again from an office supply company where he was the warehouse foreman.

He always did what was expected from him. He used to assign us chores listed on a duty roster taped to the kitchen wall phone. He would drink coffee all evening before going to bed. He loved to watch movies, especially action flicks like martial arts.

Some might call him dull, but he was never drama for the family. He was a steady positive role model. he was . . . a solid man.

He was loved and is sorely missed. RIP
