"Reports of my death are greatly exaggerated"

Quote attributed to my favorite author, Mark Twain.

I have finished my latest book, Border Town (working title). There will be a ton of editing to follow. It's almost like rewriting an entire book from an outline. That pretty-much describes the process.

Okay, you are probably asking, "Don't you start with an outline?"

Well, yeah. At least I start that way. I found out that my brilliant mentor, Donna Mabry, does not.

I can't imagine doing it any other way.

It was a brutal summer here in the desert southwest. We had a steady series of guest and the beat goes on for the foreseeable three months. Don't get me wrong, this is a blessing . . . I keep telling myself.

I love this time of year, football, baseball and basketball and wrestling around the corner. Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas to look forward to. Fall colors. Plus the wife and I have birthdays coming . . .

May God bless you all.
